Beware of iPhone unlocking programs

Apple has released a warning to iPhone users and buyers about downloading unauthorized iPhone unlocking programs that are rampantly available on the Internet. Company executives state that these programs can cause irreparable damage to the iPhone’s software. It’s better to wait for official software updates because any damage caused by said unauthorized programs is not covered by iPhone’s warranty. Besides, the new update will include exciting new features such as iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, not to mention that you only have to wait a few days for that one as it will be released later this week. So be warned, iPhone republic (catch phrase mine), and listen to your elders.

Mobycator for Nokia S60

Sweden’s Mobycator is pretty chummy with cell phone company Nokia as it has recently launched a media publishing system for the Nokia S60 models. This system called Mobypal is a free application that allows customers to publish and store photos and videos on the Internet in a flash. Media can be uploaded to the server via WLAN, 3G or Edge at the original resolution without reducing the quality when published on the site. Another feature is a Mobypal Face book plug-in for users who want to categorize certain media as “blog” which will then be directed to the user’s Face book account after uploading. Starbucks Free WiFi Access – T-Mobile Sues

T-Mobile has filed a lawsuit against Starbucks Coffee which has been using their service as part of their free customer service. In efforts to boost numbers of patrons, Starbucks has been offering free WiFi access to all customers which brought in office workers in droves with the knowledge that they could still keep tabs on the office on their breaks. T-Mobile argues that they had a license agreement to provide WiFi access for all US branches of Starbucks without the addition of the free WiFi access offer, that has taxed the mobile provider heavily in terms of bandwidth.
The suit comes when T-Mobile learns that they would be replaced with provider AT&T at the end of the year when their service agreement with Starbucks expires. They are claiming that the free service for customers was not part of their service agreement but was restricted to office use only. What is to come out of the wranglings of the two companies is yet to be seen as they conduct negotiations and talks to resolve the issue.

Dallas city school zones ban cellphones

If you’re in Dallas or visiting Dallas for a while, and if you plan to pass through a school zone (for whatever reason) you’d better start refraining yourself from using your mobile while driving– unless you’d rather want to divest yourself of 200 bucks. Apparently, that’s the new city law. Before, there were only seven school zones where the ban was effective but now, they’ve added about 230 more. The city just passed that ordinance today, following others. How serious is the city? About
$145,000 sure. That’s the amount they are using to install signage to alert drivers to the changes.

Push to talk
This is like a walkie-talkie feature that is cool for business folks or those who need constant contact with specific people. The best thing about this is that you don’t need a cell signal to use and therefore no usage of standard minutes.

Speaker phone
Again, for the uber mobile people who drive, type on the computer, take down notes, etc. etc while they talk on their phones. There are units available with full-duplex speakerphones and others that support conference calling.

Phone book
Are you a social butterfly who has a friends list as long as Rapunzel’s hair? Then you might want to consider a phone that has a big enough phonebook storage. We don’t want you missing out on anyone.

Voice dialing
This feature is perfect for people on the go (especially the ones using headsets) as they can do hands-off dialing.

Camera and video recorder
Older phone models have low-grade VGA but the new ones can have megapixel resolutions for quality images and they also have extra editing features.

Want Honey? Throw out your Cell!

Scientists and bee researchers are blaming cellular phones as the main reason why bees are dissapearing from all over the globe due to the pollution in terms of radio waves they flood the globe with. They are saying that the the immense ammounts of radio waves that are being broadcast by cellular cell sites are causing the occurence of CCS or Colony Collapse Syndrome that is wiping bees from all over the globe with the exception of China which is now considered to be the largest exporter of honey the world over. Many colonies in France, UK and the US have been suffering irreversable damage with hives that used to be teeming with bees and of course honey being left ampty and dry of their precious golden by products. Even genetically modified bees are suffering form the phenomenon as scientists try to learn more abou the problem. Without a better explanation, we might see the end of honey as pary of our daily breakfast routines.

Samsung Instinct – after the iPhone

In what has been hailed by many as the most decent competitor to the iPhone, Samsung’s Instict is sen by many as that indeed. Sporting the same features as the iPhone with it’s touch screen and innovative applications, this may truly be the best of the best competitor that would take a bite out of Apple’s share of the cellular phone market. The phone features a customizable home screen (totally void in all other phones in the same class) and many applications from Sprint that adds more function to the older and more expensive LG Prada – F480 which had a smaller screen. iPhone has created a whole distinct niche in the cellular phone industry with the release of the iPhone and cellular manufacturers have been trying to find a way of getting a bit of the market it has. Though initially a flop, the iPhone still managed to top most people’s want lists and continues to do so, just hope the newer version can keep its hold on the market share.
